FRANT GARDEN CLUB
Once again the gods blessed us with a fine but breezy day for our summer outing
to Walmer Castle. The castle has a fascinating history and the gardens were
looking at their best. It was good to see a very productive kitchen garden
and glasshouses well used. One of the gardeners told me that climbing French
Beans in one house had been cropping since March. I also noticed that they
had recently planted up an alpine bed in one house and this had some very interesting
plants, including some glorious gentians.
Our October 15 speaker will be Vera Orsbourne and she will be sharing her South African Phlog (photographic diary) with us.
Both meetings are held in the Memorial Hall and start at 19:45. New members
are very welcome. Just come along!
